The regulations specify that certain combinations of product categories and ingredients are only acceptable within defined pH value ranges. When this applies to a combination of product category and product composition that you have entered, the pH value is shown and you are requested to enter the pH value for the product.

This means that the % share that you have entered for that specific ingredient is above a threshold as defined in the regulations. For example: you have entered 2%, while the threshold/restriction in the regulations allows a maximum of 1%.

This means that the indicated ingredient can be used in the product, but only under specific conditions such as purity requirements (e.g. absence of certain contaminants), displaying specific warnings and/or use instructions on product labels, etc.

For example, a parfum/fragrance/aroma is a generally acceptable (non-restricted) ingredient, but requires more detailed assessment to ensure that 1) it does not contain any banned fragrance ingredients, 2) it does not exceed the safe use levels as indicated in the IFRA declaration and/or safety evaluation provided by the supplier, and 3) the allergens from parfum/fragrance/aroma are adequately included in the ingredients list when present in significant quantities
